Since 2023, merf has done more for brass nerds than just about anyone. Guided by a gaggle of internationally acclaimed working brass players, we aim to shake up the mute industry and meet our merfs where they want to be met.

merf makes mutes in small batches (ie. the heisenberg.)…..and/or made to order (ie. bespoke 3D printed merfdom) from our home base in merf, earth (ie. northern Virginia). if you dream it, merf will come.

Kyle gordon (bass bone) and drew fremder (trumpet) are just getting started. and yah, we still prefer not to have to carry mutes or play them, but since that’s not reality, we may as well make ones we want to play.
